The program is designed to prepare students for success in the fast-paced restaurant industry, giving them the skills to thrive in both the front and back of the house.
In addition to providing practical training, the program also gives students an understanding of the theories and techniques behind cooking. Students will learn about food storage and sanitation, nutrition, cost control, menu design, and other important aspects of running a successful kitchen. They will also cover the basics of baking and cooking, including baking techniques, knife skills, and proper use of kitchen equipment.
For more advanced students, the program offers classes in culinary science and global cuisine. Through these courses, students can gain an understanding of the science behind food preparation and explore the flavors and techniques used in cooking around the world.
Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a certificate that certifies their skill level. They can then go on to gain employment in various restaurants, catering companies, and other foodservice settings.
