About

Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) offers a variety of cooking education programs for students interested in advancing their culinary knowledge. Through its Food Services Program, SFCC offers certificates in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management, Associate of Applied Science degrees in Culinary Arts, and Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in Hospitality Management.

The College’s Culinary Arts program is designed to provide hands-on learning experiences in all aspects of the food industry. Students receive instruction in food safety and sanitation, nutrition, purchasing and inventorying, menu planning and merchandising, and other essential topics. During their studies, students practice their skills in the college's fully functioning kitchen and bakery. In addition, they gain work experience through field placements with local restaurants and catering companies.

SFCC's Hospitality Management Program provides similar hands-on experience and field placements, but also focuses more on front-of-house management and customer service. Hospitality management students are trained in accounting, marketing and promotion, sales and service, workplace safety, and other skills needed to lead hospitality organizations.

SFCC's student-run restaurant, Cafe Pasquals, provides students with an opportunity to put their culinary and hospitality skills into practice. The eatery, located on campus, serves gourmet breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus to students and visitors alike.

Whether you’re looking for a certificate or associate degree in the culinary arts or a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Santa Fe Community College can provide the training you need to succeed in the food and hospitality industry. With structured classes and hands-on experience in the college's state-of-the-art kitchens, you’ll be well prepared to pursue a successful career in the culinary and hospitality fields.
