Tohono O’odham Community College (TOCC) provides world-class culinary training for aspiring cooks, chefs and restaurateurs. Its unique program offers a unique cooking education, combining traditional O’odham cooking techniques with the latest in modern culinary trends. With courses ranging from basic food preparation to advanced cooking methods, students at TOCC can take their knowledge of cooking to the next level.

The program aims to teach the history, culture and culinary traditions of the Tohono O’odham people. Through hands-on classes, students will gain knowledge on how to prepare, cook and present meals in the traditional O’odham style. They will also learn about common ingredients used and special dishes such as frybread and cholla buds.

In addition to learning traditional recipes, students will have access to specialty courses in Healthy Eating, Latin American cuisine, Asian cooking methods and more. They will also acquire skills such as menu planning, budgeting and food safety. Instructors provide students with the opportunity to hone their craft by studying and practicing theoretical and practical applications of food preparation.

TOCC’s program is designed to shape a new generation of culinary students.
