About

Cooking Education at Front Range Community College (FRCC) provides students with the opportunity to learn how to cook with professional chefs. Students can immerse themselves in culinary arts, learn food safety and nutrition, and gain the skills to manage a restaurant or catering business. They will also gain a comprehensive education in the history, science, and culture of food and cooking.

FRCC's programs are designed to provide students with the hands-on experience they need to become successful culinary professionals. They offer an Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts, as well as a number of certificate programs in areas such as baking, pastry, and nutrition. Students in the AAS degree program will complete classes in recipe development, sanitary food preparation, production techniques, food and beverage cost control, and nutrition. Additional courses explore global cuisines, career possibilities, and leadership skills.

In addition to the classroom experience, students also get the chance to work alongside chefs in the college's student-run restaurant. Front Range also offers a wide variety of workshops and host events for aspiring chefs and food lovers alike. The college provides resources for job placement and internships, so graduates can find their calling in the food industry.

At FRCC, students learn more than just basic cooking skills. They gain leadership and communication skills, learn about nutrition and safety, and discover how the food industry works from a business perspective. Plus, with dedicated faculty and staff to support them, students can make the most of their education during their time at Front Range Community College.
