The culinary courses offered through the University are designed to help students gain an understanding of the importance of dietary health, nutrition and food safety. The first course, Introduction to Culinary Arts, provides an overview of the culinary industry and its various roles, while the Food Safety class encourages students to become knowledgeable in the principles of safe food handling. In addition, the Culinary Science class helps to develop a stronger understanding of food chemistry, using both classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory exercises.
