Cooking education at the College of Saint Benedict (CSB) can be a fun and enriching experience for students of all ages. CSB offers a variety of cooking classes and programs that provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to become successful cooks. Through hands-on practice, students learn the basics of nutrition and the science of cooking. They explore the different techniques and ingredients used to create flavorful dishes. The College of Saint Benedict offers an 18-credit Cooking Certificate Program that provides instruction on the fundamentals of cooking and baking. Through both hands-on and lecture-based classes, students cover topics like menu planning, knife skills, food safety and sanitation, and the principles of food pairing. Additionally, there are courses dedicated to specific areas such as global cuisines, vegan cooking, and nutrition.

Additionally, students can choose from a variety of electives based on their interests, allowing them to hone their skills in particular areas or dive deeper into a certain cuisine. For example, interested students can take courses in advanced pastry techniques, molecular gastronomy, food pricing, wedding cake design, vegetarian cooking, or Spanish cuisine.
